5 YEARS LATER

Amid this pandemic situation, many of us are force to stay home. It depends on how individuals felt about it. Either you whine and rant on your Facebook about how dead you are or make full use of the time to relax, do some reflections, do something productive and more importantly, a family bonding at the comfort of your home. There is plenty of time now and I don’t want to waste it just like that.

It’s been nearly a year since I’ve got married. Time past fast. I just wanted to recap on why I decided to shut down Suave Supply Store. Honestly, it was taxing. I got exhausted at one point of time and it stressed me out. It was a mixed feeling of emotions. I was drained like how most creative-heads would have a major burnout. That was the stage where i was saving for my wedding and future plans. Worst still, i was nearly cheated by the wedding planner. Our spider-sense and quick reflexes save us. I’ve got to recover back the amount of money 3 months before the wedding date. I will never forget the anxiousness i had felt till today, how our family help us sort things out within that period and of course we’ll always remember the people who gave us the hand for us to carry on. Also, i lost my full-time job at the same time. What could be more worst?

5 years of printing apparels and customising accessories. The non-stop events, the sold-out booth, the sleepless night and also the rise and fall of the brand. I’ve gone through all that. I didn’t regret any. Indeed I am glad I took that step to create something for the community. Whenever I saw people wearing my brand out on the street, I smiled and felt really good about it. All this wouldn’t happen without my crew . They were my backbone to run the brand. In many ways, they had supported me and I felt like I owe every single one of them. The last show we had was at Sole Superior. It was such a good wrap up. Honestly, I missed the events, mingling with the community and also catching up with the industry folks. It always feels good when you got to share and also hear opinions from new friends. That’s how we connect with artiste, collectors, consumers and organisers. That makes the culture special on its own. After many thought, I felt that I would still want to contribute something to the community. I still crave for the creative process. I have decided to rebrand Suave as a media-based blog to share stories and insights of the latest trending on our local subculture. I had always believed in supporting our local act. It needs to starts somewhere. Trust me, I will keep the contents fresh and coming.

Thank you for all the support these years!
