Punart Butter is made out of three talented ladies that uses mostly Vans base shoes as their canvas for custom works. With variety of fabrics such as Indonesian Batik and Japanese Boro technique, a basic sneaker are turn into ‘Shoes contact before eye contact’.
Can you give us a little introduction of PunArtButter?
Just like the name, we are 3 cheeky and fun girls who wanted to spread joy to your shoes.
How long have you guys been crafting?
We officially started in Jan 2020.
Where did you pick up the skills and techniques?
Nurul (Mrrck) is a self-taught artist while Tsueki has always been into fashion design and this is the closest that she can get.
Are the fabrics hand stitch or machine sewn on the shoes?
The fabrics are 100% hand sewn with lots of love. Tsueki can vouch on that based on the blisters on her fingers. *winks*
It seems like Vans are the best sneaker to work on for you? Ever consider working on other pairs like Nike or Adidas?
Yes at the moment. BUT. Something is definitely baking in the oven. Stay tuned! *wink wink*
Let’s hear something, have you guys ever f**ked up a customer shoes?
Not literally. We do our best to minimise errors through much communication and we are very thankful to our customers for being understanding and supportive.
Is this a serious business or something you guys just having fun with?
Yes, it’s definitely a serious business that we have fun with.
What is the cost range for a custom pair?
For Custom Stitch, it’ll be $159 (including shoes). As for Custom Paint, price starts from $130 onwards (excluding shoes); depending on complexity of design & coverage.
Angelus Paint aren’t cheap stuffs. How many colours are there in your collection till date?
As many colours as our personality. *grins*
If given a chance, who would you like to work with on a collaboration locally?
We would love to collab with Vans and Forestchild.
