A Singaporean woman – Atikah Syarah Ismail, has been selected to take part in Fjällräven Polar 2026, becoming the first woman from Singapore to participate in the 300 km dog-sled expedition Fjällräven Polar.
Fjällräven Polar is organised by Swedish outdoor brand Fjällräven, Fjällräven Polar is a 300-kilometre journey across the Arctic Circle. The expedition brings together participants from around the world to experience life in extreme winter conditions while travelling by traditional dog sled.

Unlike conventional polar expeditions, Fjällräven Polar is open to members of the public without prior Arctic experience. Participants receive professional training, expedition support, and technical outdoor equipment, reflecting Fjällräven’s belief that the outdoors should be accessible to all.
The selection of a Singaporean woman is a significant milestone, particularly as Singapore has no natural winter climate. It highlights the growing interest among Singaporeans in outdoor adventure and endurance-based experiences, as well as the increasing representation of women in expedition travel.

Fjällräven has long emphasised sustainability, education and responsible outdoor practices. The expedition incorporates environmental awareness, respect for Arctic ecosystems, and the cultural heritage of dog sledding.
Fjällräven Polar 2026 is scheduled to take place in 27th March to 2nd April 2026, with participants representing multiple countries across Europe, Asia and the Americas.
