Critically acclaimed Netflix series, Stranger Things has team up with Casio for a second collaboration piece. Unveiling two timepieces that bridge the gap between reality and the Upside Down: the G-SHOCK DW-5600STT-1 and CASIO AQ-800EST-1A.
With Season 5 set to close the curtain on the Duffer Brothers’ sci-fi horror saga, these collaborative timepieces serve as a tribute to a series that has captivated audiences worldwide since 2016 reviving ’80s nostalgia and cementing its place as a defining cultural force of the past decade.
Drawing from the show’s core theme of parallel dimensions, this second collaboration introduces two watches that channel the essence of both realities.
The DW-5600STT-1 is wrapped in the gnarled vines of Vecna, the series’ ultimate antagonist and the mastermind behind Hawkins’ darkest horrors. In a subtle yet clever detail, the letter “A” in “LED BACK LIGHT” appears reversed, symbolizing the distorted mirror world of the Upside Down. When activated in low light, a red backlight floods the dial in the show’s signature crimson hue, evoking the Mind Flayer’s storm and some of the series’ most harrowing moments.
Rooted firmly in 1980s design language, the analog-digital AQ-800EST-1A feels as though it was lifted straight from the show’s set. Its dial is overlaid with dimensional vine detailing, while the hour markers feature raised metallic lettering rendered in the now-iconic Stranger Things typeface.
Collector’s Packaging
Befitting its cult status, both the DW-5600STT-1 and AQ-800EST-1A will be housed in a special collector’s packaging. The graphics showcase the Demogorgon and Vecna’s vines, two of show’s most recognisable motifs.
